I am a Data Scientist, Teacher, Developer, and till 2026, a PhD Student. I am working with Learning Analytics and I am trying to find effective solutions to motivate students in online learning through a personalized approach for providing social comparison feedback in addition to UX that promotes their self-regulated learning.

You'll find me jamming on my keyboard and guitar or crafting EDM beats in my free time. Music is my escape and creative outlet, complementing my analytical mindset.

I have given talks, invited lectures, and workshops in universities, bootcamps and meetups. My interest in teaching and training grew when I was invited as a coach by IBM to give a one-day workshop as a part of IBM Bluemix Hackathon in 2016.

I started programming back in 2003 and played around with QBasic, C, later HTML/CSS and Javascript.

I created a so-called Social Media platform for teenagers in 2007. It was built with PHP and allowed users to set up their profiles, ask questions, write blog posts. It had 10 active users for its lifetime 🤭

BOOK

Your Guide to Machine Learning

If you are learning Machine Learning and you are looking for a quick guide to begin writing programs while understanding what is happening under the hood, this book is your friend.

The first section, authored by Ashwin is a primer to Python thus preparing those who are very new. Section 2 describes clustering and classification methods. You will find straightforward snippets with line by line explaination, and visualization methods to understand what your implementation is actually doing. Find detailed tutorials on setting up your experiments and selecting the right solutions.

The third section begins with a gentle introduction to neural network. You will find explaination of the mathematics behind it, and introduction to the basic components of Pytorch. Then you will learn to use CNN, RNN and LSTM to create your own solutions

If you are learning Machine Learning and you are looking for a quick guide to begin writing programs while understanding what is happening under the hood, this book is your friend.

I built efficient Fit-Score algorithm that matches a job applicant with the jobs they are interested in based on the similarity (and dissimilarity) of skills, experience, and education level. Later, with my team, I created a semantic representation (vector embeddings) of a dense ontology of hard skills.

This saves hours of recruiter time to shortlist the candidates, while helping candidates find the right job for them through personalized recommendations.

Industry Experience

As the first Data Scientist in the team, built Machine Learning pipeline that integrates with dashboard for Fraud Prevention teams at eCommerce companies. This provides end users to use templates and integrate their online transactions with pre-trained models.

I created file tagging in Content Insight modules for efficient storage and retrieval of complex enterprise records and data management systems. Also worked on process improvement for the core search functionality of high-performance enterprise search engine for an eGovernance platform. The most fun part was creating scripts for automating boring tasks, saving 10000+ man-hours per year for my team.
